The major Hill resorts are: Munnar, Ponmudi, Peerumade, Neliyampathy, , Peruvannamuzhi, Tusharagiri, Wayanad, Pythal Mala, Ezhimala, Ranipuram, Devikulam, Wagamon etc..

Munnar
Munnar is a small hill station set amongst the Kannan Devan hills. It is famous for its lush green surroundings, lakes, reservoirs, forests, and tea estates. The quiet environs of Munnar attract the traveler to relax in the lap of Mother Nature.Munnar also beacons the adventure-seeking traveler, who is interested in paragliding. It has some of the highest tea estates in the world.

Wayanad
Wayanad is derived from the expression ‘Wayanadu’, which means the ‘land of paddy fields’. Offering the climate of the hill station, Wayanad is blessed with mist-clad mountains, fast flowing rivers, soil which promotes a lush growth of vegetation and sylvan valleys. Situated at a height of 700 to 1200 meters above sea level, the district’s climate and the geography make it ideal for the cultivation of coffee, tea, cardamom, pepper and rubber.

Established in 1973, the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is rich in bio-diversity and is an integral part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, which has been established with the specific objective of conserving the biological heritage of the region

Nelliampathy
Located at a distance of 52 kms from Palakkad, the cool hills of Nelliampathy, nestling atop the Western Ghats, offer a breathtaking view of the misty mountains and enchanting valleys interspersed with sprawling tea, coffee, cardamom and orange plantations. The bracing climate and green magic of nature enhance the exhilarating experience. For a vantage view of the spectacle, one must visit Seethakundu, where a 100m high waterfall provides an added attraction.

It offers a fantastic view of the valley below a wide-angled vision of one-third of the entire Palakkad area. A forest range 75 kms from Palakkad, the Nelliyampathy hills comprise a chain of ridges cut off from one another by valleys of dense evergreen forests and orange plantations.

Wagamon
Located 64 kms from Kottayam and 65 kms from Idukki town, Wagamon is a hill station perched at an altitude of 1100 m above sea level. A trekker’s delight, Wagamon is surrounded by beautiful meadows, valleys and tea gardens, which are all spellbinding works of nature. Wagamon is engulfed by green tea gardens and deep puzzling valleys. All the trekking enthusiasts enjoy climbing this 1100m tall hill.An ideal tourist spot, the place is famous for the unique rock formations at Thangal Para, the Indo-Swiss project and Kurisumala Ashram.
