Kerala – one of the “ten paradises of the world” and must be visited

This is the most famous state in South India and a popular tourist place for its backwaters, tropical greenery, and yoga and Ayurvedic treatments. The enormous attractions in the state are the beaches at Kovalam, Varkala, Cherai, Kappad, Bekal and Muzhappilangad. The hill stations of Munnar, Wagamon, Peermade, Ponmudi, Nelliampathi and Wayanad are the other attractions.

Kovalam
This is a suburb on the Arabian Sea at Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. IT has a number of beach resorts in and around. It has a high significance for a variety of Ayurvedic Treatments. Cherai

Varkala

Kappad
The beach is famous as the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama landed here in May 20, 1498 and gave the Europeans a sea route for trade.

Muzhappilangadi
It is famous for its 5 km long pristine beach and a three day festival known as ‘Thalappoli’ celebrated in March at Sree Koormba Temple. In the festival, the devotees take a sacred brass vessel to show their respect to the Goddess.

Munnar
The most famous hill resort town is situated on the Western Ghats in Idukki district. There are various places for the tourist. Eravikulam National Park, a great place for trekking, has a superb view of the tea plantation and the rolling hills. It becomes a hot site for the tourist when the hill slopes get covered in blue by the blossoming of Neelakurunji which blooms once in twelve year. Another interesting place is Mattupetty, known for its sandstone dam and lake to enjoy boat rides.
It is a home of a variety of birds also. Anayirangal, a lush green area of tea plants is 22 km from Munnar. It is an unforgettable experience to trip to the splendid lake. Then Echo point is another excellent tourism site to produce natural echo here.

Wayanad
In the district, there are a number of places like Eddakal Caves, famous for its ancient carvings and paintings, Ananthanatha Swami Temple, Varambatta Mosque, one of the oldest mosque, popular for varambatta nercha, Sulthan Bathery Fort, constructed by Tipu Sultan, Pookode lake, a famous tourist centre, ParswanathaSwamy Jain Temple, a most pretty Jain temple, sited at Puliyarmala, Pakshipathalam, a most famous trekking spot.
