Loka Pookkalam ( Global Pookkalam Competition 2023

Onam celebrations are synonymous with the creation of Pookkalam or Athapookkalam, a floral carpet fashioned with fresh flowers in a variety of elaborate shapes. Kerala Tourism organizes a Global Pookkalam Competition for people all over the world. Fill out your basic registration information to participate in the competition.

After registration, each contestant can upload a maximum of five entries which should carry a caption and a short description. Each entry should have two photos incorporating the Pookkalam as well as the participants alongside the Pookkalam. The maximum size for an image file is 20 MB, and it must be in the.jpg format.

You can submit the entries by midnight of September 16, 2023. It’s time to showcase your creativity and teamwork!

Each participant can sign in and submit a maximum of five (5) entries per category.

Each entry must have two images – 1) a photo of the Pookkalam and 2) a photo of participant(s) with/without family members alongside the Pookkalam.

Contestants have the option to provide a title and a description for their entry.

Prizes

The top three entries in each category will get wonderful rewards. Hurry up! Let’s set the festival in motion.

There is no entry fee or age limit for this Contest.

Onam has always been an indispensable chapter included in every Malayalee’s nostalgic memory. This is a festival that commemorates the return of the mythical king ‘Mahabali’, to see his most loved subjects of Kerala land.
